Kailua Pier, every Wednesday at 9:30am

History buffs will want to take this walking tour of Kailua-Kona and learn about the many historical places in this seaside village. The tours are led by Pelena Keeling, a lifelong resident of Kona and president and kumu hula of Kaulana Nā Pua, a nonprofit which guides at-risk Hawai`i Island youth and young adults in Hawaiian culture, values and traditions through hula and chant. Keeling take visitors on a free 90-minute tour through Kailua Village, pointing out significant sites and sharing stories of the past. Tours leave from the banyan tree adjacent to Kailua Pier at 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday.

If you’re looking for a place on the water for Happy Hour, come down to Ali`i Drive and experience Huggo’s on The Rocks. This ocean front restaurant is known for its delicious drinks, lively events, nightly entertainment from 6 to 10 p.m., friendly service, gorgeous ocean views, and tasty food! Dancing is encouraged on the restaurant’s sand floor.

Huggo’s On The Rocks’ most popular cocktails include the mai tai and pina colada, and some of their best menu items are the fresh fish tacos, the sliders, the fish sandwich and its decadent desserts.
