Restaurants:
Pueo’s Osteria:
This month’s featured restaurant is Pueo’s Osteria in Waikoloa Village. Just a short drive up Waikoloa Rd. from Waikoloa Beach Resort you will find a family-owned Italian restaurant of the highest quality. The environment is warm, the service is great and the food, in my opinion, rivals or exceeds any resort or private club fare. This restaurant is owned and operated by long-time Waikoloa Village residents James and Christine Babian. In an industry that has seen so many establishments close in the past year, we can all consider ourselves lucky that Pueo’s has survived and seems to be thriving. It’s amazing what passionate, talented, hands-on owners can do for a restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended and if you haven’t been to Pueo’s, you are missing out!

Activities:
Pololu Valley Lookout:
One of the most beautiful sights you will encounter on the Big Island is raw, untamed coast of the north shore past the town of Hawi. About a 15-20 minute hike down approximately 400 foot drop brings you to a magical black sand beach. It’s not a great swimming beach but surfers enjoy the area. The view of the coastline are breathtaking and photo opportunities present themselves over and over again. The location is remote so bring some water and food in preparation for a more strenuous hike back up the trail.
