Featured Restaurant:

FORC Restaurant

Farmer, Ocean, Rancher, Cook

This month’s featured restaurant is FORC in Waimea. My wife and I recently enjoyed a fantastic dinner there with friends. FORC uses many locally sourced ingredients, which adds to the freshness and quality of the meals served.  With a focus on Hawaiian Regional flavors, award-winning Chef Allen Hess expands on local land and sea offerings and has developed a menu that is distinctive and creative.

FORC is located in the center of Waimea and sits right in front of the Paniolo Country Inn.  The style is open, relaxed, `ohana friendly, and full of aloha. We recommend FORC and feel it would definitely be worth a drive from the resorts to experience this amazing restaurant. Reservations are recommended and it’s probably best to give them some notice if you want to get a table. Menus can be found on their website: https://forchawaii.com/

Featured Activity:

Blue Hawaiian Helicopters

One of the best ways to see the Big Island or any of the Hawaiian Islands is from the air. Blue Hawaiian flies comfortable A-Star and Eco-Star helicopters out of Waikoloa and their helipad is located directly across from the north entrance to Waikoloa Beach Resort; they also have an operation in Hilo. They use high-quality, noise-canceling headphones and offer a recording of your trip for an extra charge.  Whether you want to fly to the volcano to see the lava flow or along the beautiful valleys of the Hamakua Coast to view the waterfalls, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is a great choice. They offer the option of customizing trips to include landing near one of the waterfalls so you can get out and roam around. Go to their website and learn about the Big Island Spectacular, the Circle of Fire or the Kohala Coast Adventure.
