If you’re looking for a tasty, elegant, open-air dining experience look no further than the Brown’s Beach House restaurant at The Fairmont Orchid in Mauna Lani Resort. Its Chef de Cuisine, Junior Ulep, is a celebrated Hawaii-based chef. A native of Oahu’s North Shore, Ulep is known for his passionate commitment to using fresh, locally sourced Hawaiian ingredients and connecting them to the islands’ culinary traditions in his dishes. He has held leadership roles at other high-profile resorts, including Meridia at Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and Manta at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.
Open daily, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., the menu includes a wide range of favorites all of which feature island ingredients. Appetizers include a very tasty Poisson Cru using Abalone & Kanpachi and a Crispy Pork Belly; you’ll want to try the Baby Beet & Burrata salad and for dinner you can’t go wrong with a Ti Leaf Wrapped Kanpachi or the Lobster Agnolotti. For dessert, indulge in ice creams and sorbets and a few select desserts, all using island sourced ingredients.
