Aloha all from the Big Island:

Thank you to all of you who reached out over the last two days to ask if we were OK and safe. I’m grateful to say that we are fine here on the Big Island. The fires were about 40 minutes north of us, and really did not affect the town of Kona. The brush fires here on the Big Island are contained and just about out. At this time it appears that the damage here on the big island is mostly to the land and at least one structure burned that we understand was not residential. However, our friends on Maui we’re not so lucky. As you seen the pictures on TV, the entire town of Lahaina was destroyed along with part of Kula. We are heartbroken for our friends and family over on the Valley Isle. Some of our Keller Williams associates have lost their homes. Thousands of people are displaced, losing their homes and their livelihood.

We will band together. We will share the spirit of aloha and we will support our Ohana in Maui. Below are some links where you can contribute. The biggest need right now is if you are in the Hawaiian Islands they need volunteers at the Red Cross. We’ve given you a link below where you can volunteer if you so choose. If you are not here and just want to help fund food, water, shelter, etc. then please click the Maui Strong Link below or you can donate through the links for the Salvation Army, the Maui Food Bank, or the United Way.

If you had a trip planned to Maui. Please strongly consider changing those plans to one of the neighbor islands like here on the Big Island, Kauai or Oahu. All available resources right now in Maui are going to search and rescue as well as servicing the people of the island. I spoke to several friends today that have no power, they have no water, and they have no Internet and they have no idea when they’re going to get it. Other friends have no idea when they’re gonna get back into their homes or if they have a home. Tough situation. Please pray for them. I will keep you updated on my social media sites and will be releasing a video tomorrow.

God bless
~ Dan
