Set within the iconic 1,839 acre Mauna Kea Resort on the Kohala Coast, the Mauna Kea Residences offer a range of luxury two- to seven-bedroom residences. The Bon dance, or Bon Odori, is a Japanese folk dance performed during the Obon Festival. It’s a cultural tradition rooted in Buddhist practices that honors the spirits of ancestors. The dance's origins are believed to stem from a Buddhist legend about a monk's rejoicing after rescuing his mother from the afterlife, with his joyful dance becoming the basis for the Bon dance. It was brought to Hawai`i by the plantation workers from Japan, and now the Bon dance events are held among the five major islands (Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and Hawaii) on weekend evenings from June to August. They are usually held at Buddhist missions, but sometimes at Shintoist missions or at shopping centres.

There were no sales in May or June. Two home sales were recorded in Mauna Kea Resort in the month of April. The units averaged 38 days on the market and brought an average of 101.40% of the Sale/Current price or an average price of $6,797,500. The average price per square foot for land/building was $2,055.

Mauna Kea Resort recorded the sale of two condos in June. The units averaged 22 days on the market and brought in an average of 97.25% of the Sale/Current price or $5,582,500. The average price per square foot was $2,167.

Five home sales closed in Mauna Kea Resort in 2024 with prices ranging from $5.1M to $8.995M. The Sale/Current price averaged 94.82% or $6,589,000. The residences spent an average of 146 days on market and the average price per square foot, land/building, was $1,981.

Sales on eight condominiums in Mauna Kea Resort closed in 2024. Sales prices ranged from $1.725M to $7.1M, with an average price of $3.605M or 98.84% of the Sale/Current price. The homes were on the market for an average of 36 days and the price per square foot for the units averaged at $1,627.
